Park Mazzini redevelopment [254]

status:  ongoing

The strategic location and significance within the urban context make the Mazzini parking lot an opportunity for a redevelopment project, transforming it from a degraded area into a key asset for the city. This structure of approximately 5,000 square meters located in the historic city center, consists of an underground garage on two levels and an open parking area on the ground floor. Originally poorly designed and constructed with speculative logic, the structure has been abandoned over time, becoming a site for illegal occupation and illicit activities.

The regeneration project aims to rehabilitate the area through targeted and systematic interventions. These include the restoration of structures damaged by water infiltration, the adaptation of parking spaces, circulation, and maneuvering areas to accommodate modern vehicle dimensions, as well as the redesign of pedestrian pathways to improve functionality and accessibility. A new, efficient, and modern lighting system will enhance safety and sustainability.

These interventions demonstrate how urban regeneration can restore value to abandoned spaces, improving the urban environment and the quality of life for surrounding communities.
